WONDER LAKE – A 32-year-old Wonder Lake man was arrested Thursday on traffic and drug charges, according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers noticed a 2006 black Cadillac weaving while driving about 11:35 p.m. on Walkup Road near Woodstock Street in Crystal Lake, police said.
The driver of the car, Jason L. Beaty, was arrested for driving while license revoked and cited for a lane violation, police said. After being taken to the McHenry County Correctional facility, officers learned Beaty had concealed seven small bags of a powdery substance, police said.
The substance was tested and discovered to be 0.7 grams of heroin, police said, which had a street value of about $140.
Unlawful possession of a controlled substance was added to Beaty’s charges, police said. His most serious charge, a Class 4 felony, could result in up to three years in prison.
Beaty is being held on a $20,000 bond. His next court date is Wednesday.
