McHenry woman gets 9 years in prison for heroin possession

WOODSTOCK – A McHenry woman was sentenced to nine years in prison after she admitted to possessing about 2 ounces of heroin.

Dominique M. Richmond, 33, of the 300 block of Lily Lake Road, pleaded guilty Wednesday to a charge of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.

In addition to the heroin, police said Richmond had about 4.6 ounces of cocaine, 21 ecstasy pills and firearm ammunition in her McHenry residence.

She was arrested Jan. 20 by the Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group and charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and possession of ammunition without a firearm owner’s identification card.

Richmond faced up to 30 years in prison on the most serious charge.

In addition to the prison time, Richmond will be required to pay more than $3,700 in fines.
