Wheaton police officers continue to look for the two suspects who allegedly robbed a 7-Eleven convenience store at gunpoint in the early morning hours of Jan. 7 and struck an employee on the head during the robbery.[]

WHEATON – Wheaton police officers continue to look for the two suspects who allegedly robbed a 7-Eleven at gunpoint and struck an employee on the head during the robbery.

At about 1:44 a.m. Jan. 7, police were dispatched for an armed robbery that had just occurred at the 7-Eleven convenience store at 1277 E. Butterfield Road in Wheaton, according to a news release from the Wheaton Police Department.

Two suspects wearing ski masks entered the store brandishing a handgun, the release stated. The store employee was struck on the head by one of the suspects, who also threatened to shoot the employee, according to the release.

The suspects fled the store after stealing money and cigarettes, the release stated. An older, dark-colored SUV was seen fleeing the area and may have contained the suspects, according to the release.
