LEMONT – Lemont's annual Heritage Fest is back for its 28th year.
The free, one-day event will be from 4 to 11 p.m. July 14 in historic downtown Lemont, where at least 3,000 people are expected, according to the village of Lemont's website.
Heritage Fest features a variety of musical entertainment and food, as well as children's activities.
Festivities geared toured the youngsters include face painting, pony rides, a balloon artist, obstacle course, other rides and more. They will run from 4 to 8 p.m.
Most activities are free, thanks to the generosity of sponsors, the website states.
Live entertainment on the main stage will go from 4 to 11 p.m. From 4 to 6 p.m., 4th Point will perform, followed by Timing's Everything from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Centerfold will close out the festival from 9 to 11 p.m.
The Lemont Historical Society also will present old time photo opportunities from 4 to 6 p.m. and bingo from 5 to 7 p.m., and there will be a special appearance by former President Abraham Lincoln from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
In addition to various food vendors, Heritage Fest will feature craft beer from Lemont's Pollyanna Brewing Co., which is a main sponsor of the event.
The other main sponsor is ComEd, and the title sponsor is Citgo. Suburban Life Media is an eagle corporate sponsor.
