LA GRANGE – The League of Women Voters of the La Grange Area, along with the La Grange Park Public Library, will host an informational meeting Aug. 13 on running for local office.
“Local Elections April 2019: How Can I Get Involved?” will discuss which local offices are available, how to get on the ballot and how to influence who gets on the ballot, according to a league news release.
The program will educate local citizens about local elected positions and the necessary steps to run for local office, with a focus on La Grange, La Grange Park and Western Springs, the release stated.
The panel of speakers will include a former village clerk for Western Springs, an officer of the Caucus for La Grange Park, a member of the La Grange Citizens’ Council, a trustee for La Grange Park, a former trustee for the La Grange Park Public Library, and a delegate of the District 102 Delegate Assembly, according to the release.
Panelists will present information related to their positions, and there will be time for attendees to ask questions, the release stated.
The free, public meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the La Grange Park Public Library, 555 N. La Grange Road, La Grange Park.
