ELMHURST – About 21,000 people came out for the Elmhurst City Centre's two-day Rock the Block Party 2018, held Sept. 7 and 8 in downtown Elmhurst.
Bands including ARRA, Sixteen Candles and One Moment from Glory performed musical hits, and many local restaurants sold food for the jubilant crowds. Children enjoyed activities such as craft making and face painting.
The family fun zone, which was part of the event Sept. 8, was "busier and bigger than ever," City Centre events coordinator Christy Sopko said in an email.
The business association's Board of Directors will determine later in the fall whether to hold the event again next year, but some bands already have arranged courtesy holds for 2019, Sopko said.
