Police Reports: Elmhurst for Oct. 26

Information in Police Reports is obtained from the Elmhurst Police Department. Individuals in Police Reports who have been charged with a crime have not been proved guilty in court.

Burglary

• An attempted burglary of a home reportedly occurred at 9:19 p.m. Oct. 16 in the 500 block of North Kenilworth Avenue. The exterior glass pane of the rear entry door reportedly was shattered, a window screen cut and a detached garage entered, but no entry was made to the home, and nothing was reported missing.

• A burglary reportedly occurred between 7:30 a.m. and 11:01 p.m. Oct. 16 in the 400 block of North Howard Avenue. The pedestrian door to a detached garage, a tool box, several drawers and a cabient reportedly were found open, and a saw from the tool box reportedly was found on the ground near the house.

• A 21-speed bicycle was reported at 12:50 p.m. Oct. 18 as having been stolen between 7 p.m. Sept. 17 and 6 a.m. Sept. 18 in the 100 block of Fellows Court.

Controlled substance possession

• Anthony V. Fondren, 22, of the 1100 block of South Mason Avenue, Chicago, was charged at 12:29 a.m. Oct. 16 with possession of a controlled substance at North and West avenues.

• Elizabeth Nelson, 34, of the 2000 block of West Augusta Street, Chicago, was charged at 5:03 p.m. Oct. 18 with possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia at Second and York streets.

Drug paraphernalia possession

• Sergio Carrera, 19, of the 4800 block of South Sunnyside Avenue, Hillside, was cited at 8:13 p.m. Oct. 17 with possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding and no insurance at Emroy and Fremont avenues.

• Gavin Szymanski, 20, of the 200 block of Bonnie Brae Avenue, Itasca, was cited at 11:10 p.m. Oct. 18 with possession of drug paraphernalia and one taillight at North Avenue and York Street.

DUI

• Oliver Martinez-Toledo, 31, of the 300 block of Fairfield Avenue, Lombard, was charged at 1:15 a.m. Oct. 19 with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and unlawful possession of marijuana at Route 83 and North Avenue.

• Malgorzata Bednarz, 40, of the 600 block of Ridgewood Court, Oak Brook, was charged at 11:30 p.m. Oct. 19 with DUI of alcohol, improper lane use, no insurance and endangering the life of a child at Route 83 and St. Charles Road.

• Daniel Iglesias, 23, of the 27W000 block of Ontarioville Road, Hanover Park, was charged at 2:12 a.m. Oct. 20 with DUI of alcohol, unlawful possession of marijuana and illegal transporation of open alcohol at Lake and Walnut streets.

• Todd Grikmanis, 48, of the 7400 block of West 109th Street, Worth, was charged at 9:59 p.m. Oct. 20 with DUI of alcohol at the Adelaide Parking Deck, 120 W. Adelaide St.

• Bento Flores, 35, of the 100 block of Edwards Avenue, Northlake, was charged at 12:56 a.m. Oct. 21 with DUI of drugs, possession of a controlled substance, obstructing identification, illegal transportation of alcohol and no valid driver's license at Shell, 103 W. Third St.

• Timothy Peters, 25, of the 1000 block of Robey Avenue, Downers Grove, was charged at 1:14 a.m. Oct. 22 with DUI of alcohol, disobeying a traffic control signal, no insurance, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal transportation of alcohol and resisting arrest at York and Schiller streets.

Forgery

An incident involving forgery was reported at 4:26 p.m. Oct. 19 as having occurred at 4:26 p.m. Dec. 27, 2016, in the 900 block of South Hawthorne Avenue.

Harrassment

• An incident involving Facebook harassment reportedly occurred at 12:41 p.m. Oct. 15 in the 100 block of North Michigan Street.

• An incident involving telephone harassment reportedly occurred between 9:45 p.m. Oct. 15 and 8:12 p.m. Oct. 18 in the 900 block of South Mitchell Avenue.

Identity theft

• An incident involving identity theft reportedly occurred between 12:01 p.m. Oct. 9 and 12:01 p.m. Oct. 12 in the 800 block of South Fairfield Avenue.

• An incident involving identity theft was reported at 8 a.m. Oct. 17 in the 500 block of South Sunnyside Avenue.

• An incident involving identity theft was reported at 5:23 p.m. Oct. 19 as having occurred between midnight Oct. 11 and midnight Oct. 12 in the 300 block of North Larch Avenue.

Illegal dumping

Demolition debris reportedly was illegally dumped at 9:11 a.m. Oct. 13 in an Elmhurst Park District dumpster at Salt Creek Park, 574 W. Second St.

Lost property

A wallet reportedly was lost or mislaid at 8:25 a.m. Oct. 20 at Shell, 218 E. Butterfield Road.

Marijuana possession

• Stephanie Munoz, 23, of the 9900 block of Belmont Avenue, Franklin Park, was charged at 12:53 a.m. Oct. 17 with unlawful possession of marijuana, driving while license suspended and speeding at North and Berteau avenues.

• Kathleen Photirath, 25, of the 1400 block of Kenneth Circle, Elgin, was cited at 12:54 a.m. Oct. 18 with unlawful possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and tinted windows at Grand Avenue and Lake Street.

• Joel Sierra, 18, of the 3600 block of Hawthorne Street, Franklin Park, was cited at 11:44 p.m. Oct. 19 with unlawful possession of marijuana at Lake and Walnut streets.

• Trevon Price, 20, of the 1S100 block of Radford Lane, Villa Park, was cited at 11:23 a.m. Oct. 21 with unlawful possession of marijuana at Prairie Avenue and South Street.

• Christian Morales, 22, of the 2100 block of North Kilpatrick Avneue, Chicago, was charged at 1:42 p.m. Oct. 21 with unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to deliver at Third Street and Berteau Avenue.

Property damage

• A vehicle reportedly was keyed between 7:10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Oct. 16 in the parking lot at Doc's Victory Pub, 490 S. Spring Road.

• A scratch extending from the rear tire well to the front passenger door of a vehicle reportedly was made between 6:45 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Oct. 16 while it was parked at the football stadium parking lot of York Community High School, 355 W. St. Charles Road.

• The passenger side of a vehicle reportedly was scratched between 3:30 and 8:20 p.m. Oct. 16 on the west side of the 400 block of Spring Road.

• The trunk and rear bumper area of a Cadillac reportedly was scratched between 7 a.m. and 3:06 p.m. Oct. 16 while it was parked at the football stadium parking lot of York Community High School, 355 W. St. Charles Road.

• The passenger side of an Acura TL reportedly was keyed between 12:24 and 1:14 p.m. Oct. 16 while it was parked at the football stadium parking lot of York Community High School, 355 W. St. Charles Road.

• The passenger side of a Ford Crown Victoria reportedly was keyed between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Oct. 16 while it was parked at the football stadium parking lot of York Community High School, 355 W. St. Charles Road.

• The side of a car reportedly was scratched between 6 p.m. Oct. 15 and 3:15 p.m. Oct. 17 while it was parked in a driveway in the 100 block of Avon Road. Further investigation determined the scratching of the vehicle likely occurred at the football stadium parking lot of York Community High School, 355 W. St. Charles Road.

• The passenger side of a vehicle reportedly was keyed between 8 a.m. Oct. 16 and 3 p.m. Oct. 17 while it was parked at the football stadium parking lot of York Community High School, 355 W. St. Charles Road.

Theft

• U.S. currency reportedly was stolen between midnight Sept. 1 and 2:30 p.m. Oct. 15 from a wallet in a locked locker at L.A. Fitness, 620 N. York St. The victim suspects he has been missing money from his wallet on several occasions.

• Mail reportedly may have been stolen between 9:35 and 10 a.m. Oct. 17 from a mailbox of DAL Builders Inc., 770 Church Road, Suite A.

• Zena I. Kirklewski, 49, of the 500 block of Rumple Lane, Addison, was charged at 9:45 a.m. Oct. 19 with retail theft following an incident that reportedly occurred at 11:11 a.m. Sept. 22 at Mariano's, 678 N. York St.

• A purse reportedly was stolen between 8:50and 11:53 a.m. Oct. 18 from a staff office at the Elmhurst Public Library, 125 S. Prospect Ave.

• Gas reportedly was stolen at 7:07 p.m. Oct. 19 at BP Amoco, 217 E. Butterfield Road.

• Cash was reported stolen at 9:54 p.m. Oct. 20 from a wallet that reportedly was lost and then recovered in the men's bathroom at Elmhurst Presbyterian Church, 367 S. Spring Road.

Threat

An incident involving a threat reportedly occurred between noon Oct. 13 and 11:45 a.m. Oct. 14 at Elmhurst College, 190 S. Prospect Ave.

Traffic violation

• Omar Burrisqueta, 22, of the 1700 block of North Mannheim Road, Stone Park, was charged at 5:31 p.m. Oct. 15 with driving while license suspended, disobeying a traffic control device and expired registration at Route 83 and North Avenue. Cynthia Villagran, 19, of the 3000 block of Rhodes Avenue, Melrose Park, was cited at the same time and date with unlawful possession of marijuana at the same location.

• Lavar Russell, 41, of the 1400 block of South Mannheim Road, Westchester, was charged at 3:52 p.m. Oct. 17 with no valid driver's license and no left turn at Marion Street and Robert T. Palmer Drive.

• Lisa Starks-Johnson, 54, of the 1000 block of Windham Parkway, Romeoville, was charged at 11:11 p.m. Oct. 17 with driving whlie license suspended and suspended registration at North Avenue and Route 83.

• Jose Aguilar, 49, of the zero to 100 block of East Prairie Avenue, Lombard, was charged at 1:19 a.m. Oct. 19 with driving while license revoked and one headlight at Route 83 and St. Charles Road.

• Grancisco J. Naj, 34, of the 3700 block of North Kedzie Avenue, Chicago, was charged at 5:19 a.m. Oct. 19 with expired driver's license over one year, speeding and no insurance at North Avenue and Route 83.

• Marcelo Merida, 26, of the 600 block of South York Road, Bensenville, was charged at 1:40 p.m. Oct. 19 with no valid driver's license and obstructed registration at Route 83 and Lake Street.

• Emily Rodriguez, 22, of the 800 block of North Princeton Avenue, Villa Park, was charged at 5:33 p.m. Oct. 19 with driving while license suspended and improper passing on the shoulder at Route 83 and North Avenue.

• Josephine James, 40, of the 1700 block of North Lotus Avenue, Chicago, was charged at 3:41 a.m. Oct. 20 with no valid driver's license, suspended registration and improper lane use at York and Roosevelt roads.

• Uriel Daran Esquivel, 31, of the 3100 block of South Kedvale Avenue, Chicago, was charged at 1:08 a.m. Oct. 21 with driving while license suspended, suspended registration, no insurance and one headlight at York Street and Interstate 290.

Violation of construction hours

Henry Jankowski, 49, of the 900 block of North Villa Avenue, Villa Park, was cited at 6:43 a.m. Oct. 16 with violation of construction hours in the 100 block of South Chandler Avenue.

Warrant arrest

• Nicholas J. Bender, 25, of the 800 block of North Willow Road, Elmhurst, was arrested at 10:54 p.m. Oct. 16 on a warrant out of DuPage County in the 800 block of North Willow Road.

• Maria Gomez-Perez, 24, of the 600 block of North Lincoln Avenue, Addison, was arrested at 11:55 p.m. Oct. 19 on a warrant out of DuPage County and charged with driving while license suspended at Lake and Walnut streets.

Zero tolerance

Michael Burzawa, 20, of the 400 block of Washington Square, Wood Dale, was charged at 12:42 a.m. Oct. 20 with zero tolerance, consumption of alcohol by minor, illegal transportation of alcohol and possession of drug paraphernalia at Lake and Walnut streets.
