Elmhurst man charged with disorderly conduct following spying incident

ELMHURST – An Elmhurst man was charged following an incident that reportedly occurred at 4:22 p.m. Nov. 4 at a residence in Elmhurst.

Arnold Janickas, 49, of the 100 block of Virginia Street, Elmhurst, was arrested at his home and charged with disorderly conduct following the incident in which he allegedly was attempting to look into the window of a home of the victim who had an expired order of protection against him, according to an Elmhurst Police Department report.

Following the incident, Elmhurst police issued Janickas a no trespass notice in defense of the woman's property and advised the victim about her rights to apply for a new order of protection, Elmhurst Deputy Police Chief Mike McLean said in a phone interview Nov. 14.

Janickas and the woman had previously been married, McLean said.
