LA GRANGE PARK – Nazareth Academy continues its 2019-20 Parent Speaker Series with Ferney Ramírez, a philosopher, psychologist and teacher in occupational health, whose presentations highlight the fundamental points that parents should know.
He will offer his talk, “Raising 21st Century Teens,” in Spanish at 7 p.m. Feb. 25 at the school, 1209 W. Ogden Ave., La Grange Park.
“As a school community, Nazareth strives to increase inclusion and unity whenever possible. Being able to offer a parent presentation to our Spanish-speaking families and to the larger community helps us to work toward that goal,” Nazareth Principal Therese Hawkins said. “We hope that this presentation provides a valuable resource to parents raising teenagers in today’s world.”
Ramírez will address how to help teens develop self-control, self-reflection and personal responsibility to guide them to success and will provide a framework and answer questions to help parents and teens best collaborate. He will share compassionate strategies for parents and their students to foster skills that are an essential component of every teen’s learning and lead to a more fulfilling life. These are the skills that lead to educational success, career success and successful life outcomes.
All Nazareth parents and community members are welcome to hear from Ramírez and to participate in the question-and-answer session.
In keeping with the 2019-20 school theme, “Widening Our Lens ... That All May Be One,” Nazareth launched the Parent Speaker Series to help parents reexamine the way they have been doing or approaching things. All presentations are free and open to the public.
