Downers Grove's biggest summer festival, Rotary GroveFest, has been cancelled for 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 global pandemic.
The annual event, which draws thousands of people and has raised money for various organizations in the community, was planned to run June 25 through June 28 in downtown Downers Grove.
“We are heartbroken to cancel the Rotary GroveFest this year, as it’s something we and everyone in our community look forward to all year long,” said Joe Kenny, president of the Rotary Club of Downers Grove, said in a statement. “We want to thank the volunteers, businesses, musicians and other partners for their work throughout the years to make this such a special event. I’m confident we will be back in 2021.
Rotary GroveFest is a volunteer-run event, planned and executed by members of the Rotary Club of Downers Grove. It is made possible with the help of hundreds of volunteers and more than 100 business and individual sponsors.
