A man in his 60s and a woman in her 70s who lived in a long-term care facility are the eighth an ninth persons from DuPage County to die from COVID-19, according to the DuPage County Health Department.
The man had underlying conditions and had been living in the community. The woman, a resident of a Willowbrook long-term care facility, also had underlying conditions.
Among DuPage County residents, there are now 319 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including nine deaths.
So far, the deaths in DuPage County have occurred among patients older than 60 years of age, according to the DuPage County Health Department.
Statewide there are 72 deaths reported since the outbreak began. There are now 5,056 confirmed cases in the state as well, heath officials reported.
Other deaths announced Monday include a woman in her 60s from Kendall County, a man in his 50s from Will County and a man in his 60s from Will.
Illinois has 460 new cases of COVID-19 and reported an additional seven deaths on Monday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
The state now has seen 5,056 confirmed cases of the virus, 72 total deaths. Illinois has tested 30,446 people, as of Monday.
