WOODRIDGE – Woodridge police are investigating a Wednesday night incident of multiple reports of shots fired near Janes Ave. and Waterbury Dr.
Two people sustained non-life threatening injuries and the preliminary investigation indicates that this is a targeted incident, police said.
At 11:29 p.m. on Wednesday night responded to the reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located a shooting victim and applied first aid. The Lisle-Woodridge Fire Department transported the victim to Bolingbrook Hospital. An additional victim transported himself to Bolingbrook Hospital, police said. The Lisle Police Department, Darien Police Department, and Bolingbrook Police Department assisted at the scene.
It is the second reported incident of shots fired in Woodridge in two weeks. On June 16 Woodrige police responded to an incident during which several shots reportedly were fired in the 7400 block of Woodward Avenue near the tennis courts.
