Another 25 people with COVID-19 die in Illinois, 707 test positive

Illinois reported 25 deaths and 707 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

IDPH indicated that 2.49% of 28,446 total tests in the previous 24 hours came back positive.
The state's seven-day rolling positivity rate is 3.0%. Illinois has now seen 155,506 total cases of the virus and 7,218 people have died. A total of 2,041,440 people have been tested.

As of late Monday night, Illinois had 1,416 COVID-19 patients in the hospital. Of those, 333 were in the ICU and 126 were on ventilators. The state had 14,563 open hospital beds.

Regional update: As of Monday, the Northeast region (Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, McHenry, Lake and Will counties) reported a positivity rate average of 4%. The region reported an average of 32% of medical/surgical beds available, 42% of ICU beds available and 74% of ventilators available.

The North Central region (Bureau, DeKalb, La Salle, Lee, Ogle, Whiteside, Carroll, Boone, Winnebago, Stephenson, Putnam and Jo Daviess counties) reported a positivity rate rolling average of 4%. On average, the region has enough medical/surgical beds to accommodate a 44% surge in COVID-19 cases. The region reported that 53% of ICU beds are available and 75% of ventilators are available.

The Central region reported an average positivity rate of 2%. On average, there was an availability of 39% of medical/surgical beds, 45% of ICU beds and 80% of ventilators.

The Southern region had an average positivity rate of 5%. On average, there was an availability of 43% of medical/surgical beds, 51% of ICU beds and 79% of ventilators.

- Cass County: 1 female 90s

- Cook County: 2 males 20s, 1 male 40s, 1 female 50s, 1 male 50s, 4 males 60s, 1 male 70s, 1 female 80s, 1 male 80s

- DeKalb County: 1 female 80s, 1 female 90s

- DuPage County: 1 male 40s, 1 female 70s, 1 male 70s, 1 female 80s

- Kane County: 1 female 60s, 1 male 60s

- Lake County: 1 female 70s

- Madison County: 1 male 80s

- McHenry County: 1 female 50s

- St. Clair County: 1 male 60s
