The DuPage County Health Department on Wednesday reported 205 new cases of COVID-19 in the county, with one death, a man in his 30s.
The county now has seen a total of 21,325 coronavirus cases including 600 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of October 6 was 96.0%.
The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen 10 days of positivity increases and five days of hospital admission increases. The region's positivity rate increased to 9.2%, well above the state's threshold of 8%. It marked the 14th consecutive day the positivity rate has gone up in this region. Currently, 33% of medical/surgical beds are available and 48% of ICU beds.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 4,342 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 69 additional deaths Wednesday.
By town, Wheaton has had 912 total cases, Glen Ellyn 722, Lombard 1,043, Villa Park 624, Hinsdale 395, Westmont 646, Darien 404, Downers Grove 910, Elmhurst 1,125, Warrenville 310 and Winfield 189. Addison has had 1,510 confirmed cases, Naperville 1,577, Carol Stream 1,154 and West Chicago 1,334.
